Privacy Policy

elmedian (“we”, “us”) operates elmedian.com, an online Japanese and Korean language school, and this student portal (“My Page”). For any question about this policy or your personal data, contact us at info@elmedian.co.kr.

When you create an account, we collect the information you provide directly:

• Name, email address, country, and timezone
• Mobile number and address, if you choose to provide them
• An avatar image, if you upload one

We also collect information generated as you use the service:

• Lesson bookings, lesson credits, and payment records
• Reviews, ratings, and messages you submit
• Private lesson notes your teacher writes about your lessons

We use your information to:

• Provide and manage your lessons, bookings, and lesson-credit balance
• Process and match payments to your account
• Send you service emails (booking confirmations, credit and cancellation notices, replies to your messages)
• Display your reviews publicly, in the limited form described below
• Award loyalty points and apply promo codes

Reviews are the only content of yours that can appear publicly, and only after an administrator approves it. A public review shows your initials and country (for example, “A.K. / Germany”) and never your full name, email, or any other contact information. Approved review text and teacher biography text may be automatically translated into other languages for display to other visitors — see “Third parties we share data with” below.

We use a small number of service providers (“processors”) to run elmedian.com. We only share what each one needs to do its job:

• Supabase — hosts our database, authentication, and file storage.
• Vercel — hosts this website.
• SuperSaaS — manages lesson scheduling and lesson-credit balances; it is the system of record for your bookings.
• Wise and PayPal — process lesson-credit payments you make to us directly.
• Google Workspace — delivers our outgoing emails and, for payment notifications forwarded to our own inbox, helps us match an incoming payment to your account.
• Anthropic (Claude) — translates approved review text and article content into other languages on request.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone else for their own marketing purposes.

We use a small number of essential cookies: one to keep you signed in, and one to remember your preferred display language. We don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time by emailing info@elmedian.co.kr. If you ask us to delete your account, we will anonymize any reviews you’ve published — removing the link to your account while keeping the review text itself, since it reflects your genuine experience — unless you specifically ask us to delete the review text as well.

If we make a material change to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use elmedian.com after a change means you accept the updated policy.
